Our Accessibility Standards

We aim to meet or exceed the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines outline how to make web content more usable for people with a diverse range of abilities, including those who rely on assistive technologies such as:

  • Screen readers

  • Keyboard-only navigation

  • Voice recognition software

  • Screen magnification tools

  • Closed captioning

  • Alternative input devices

Our approach includes both design best practices and technical development standards to support accessibility across the entire site.

 

 

What We’ve Done So Far

To create a more accessible digital environment, we have implemented or are actively working on the following:

1. Semantic & Structured HTML

  • Proper use of headings (H1–H6)

  • Clear page structure

  • ARIA labels where appropriate

2. Keyboard Navigation

  • Ability to navigate key content using only a keyboard

  • Focus states for menus, buttons, and input fields

  • Logical tab order

3. Visual Accessibility

  • Strong colour contrast between text and background

  • Scalable text without loss of readability

  • Reduced reliance on colour alone to convey information

4. Alternative Text & Media Support

  • Descriptive alt text for meaningful images

  • Decorative images marked appropriately

  • Captions and/or transcripts for video content where possible

5. Forms & Interactive Elements

  • Clear labels

  • Accessible error messages

  • Logical grouping of related fields

6. Responsive Design

  • Optimised for a wide range of devices, screen sizes, and orientations

 

 

Areas We Are Continuing to Improve

We recognise that accessibility is not a one-time project but an ongoing process. As we expand our website and add new features, we continue to review accessibility at every stage.

We are currently focusing on:

  • Improving screen reader announcements across interactive elements

  • Enhancing video caption coverage

  • Reducing motion or animation that may trigger sensitivities

  • Refining navigation consistency across pages

  • Auditing third-party embeds and integrations

Some third-party tools or plugins may not fully support WCAG 2.1 AA standards. While we do our best to select accessible partners, we may occasionally rely on external technology that is outside of our control.
